The vineyard was planted using a distinctive approach, with rows and plants placed in close proximity. This method significantly increases the number of plants per area, tripling the density compared to a typical vineyard. Consequently, the vineyard faces intense competition among the vines, leading to reduced yield but enhanced quality as a result.
This wine was produced from Syrah grapes rooted in the Land of Israel, grown in vineyards near Nahal Tut and on the slopes of the Bat-Shlomo colony. The red wine "David" is named after King David, on which it is said: "Red, with beautiful eyes and good-looking", and it encapsulates the vision of the return to Zion that was realized with the establishment of the State of Israel. The vineyards were cared for by good-natured boys and girls where David Green, later Ben-Gurion, worked about a hundred years ago. David Ben-Gurion, who nurtured Carmi Bat-Shlomo, believed in Peretz Herzenstein's pioneering endeavors. A century has passed, and our boys and girls continue to revive the land of Israel in thriving vineyards. The wine is dedicated to the old-new leadership of "David," and we read about it what David Ben-Gurion said: "Today's youth will shape the image of man in Israel – through an exemplary life."
